This is the core service offered by Trax and has been improved over the past decade due mainly to significant investment in the Carrier Audit System. This unique system allows us to offer service-level verification and invoice verification at the single-order level to ensure that your carrier partners are meeting their contractual obligations.
We normally operate on a contingent-fee-based charging model in order to remove all
financial risks from our clients. This means there is no software to buy, no internal implementation or training and no disruption to your processes or systems.

3PLPs (Third-party Logistics Providers) are an integral part of most large businesses. But how do you know if they are delivering all the elements detailed in your service agreement?
Trax brings many years of experience and a thorough knowledge of the common working practices of 3PLPs to answer this critical question. This experience allows us to quickly and efficiently review each of your third-party operations and identify where the service varies from what was contractually agreed at an individual order level. We will then assist you in recovering any monies that should be returned in view of our findings.
Additionally, Trax verify the invoices from your 3PLP to ensure that you are paying for work that has actually been completed – at the agreed rates.
This service is the same as the Carrier Audit but for 3PLPs. Data feeds are very similar to those used for Carrier Audit; we simply look at a different part of the supply chain. As an example, one customer had 293 target service levels across 17 different countries with differing time zone considerations and currencies, none of which had been reviewed until Trax were asked to get involved after a successful carrier audit.
Trax normally operate on a contingent-fee basis. Our service charges are based on money actually recovered by our clients, so there is no financial or operational risk to you in asking Trax to perform this service.
One of the most common problems for businesses sending out tens of thousands of shipments each month is the inevitable stream of product returns. Variables such as target customer, the size and value of products and the time of year can turn a trickle into a raging torrent that has meant catastrophe for some very well known supply chains.
As long as the end customer returns the product through a tracked service, or an RMA (Returns Materials Authorisation) exists, we are able to audit both the service level and the invoice in the same way as the outbound carrier audit process. There must be a structured returns process to make this work and a carrier contract that specifically covers this process whether covered by a service level agreement or not.
Trax are able to use the relationships and data in the Carrier Audit Service to perform the Product Returns Audit, which enables our clients to properly identify and reconcile all their returns. Trax can use the data to identify trends, problem customers and even problem carriers, so you can focus on the root causes of product returns.
The Trax Group senior management team have over 120 years of experience in carrier delivery operations, covering a range of small to very large businesses.
That experience, coupled with a reputation of integrity, means that we are able to offer truly objective and independent advice to companies looking for external support.
The results of our audits often highlight operational, process and/or procedural problems. This presents an opportunity to eliminate these root causes, which often leads to improvements in customer service.
This is not a core part of our business, but we have been asked by so many companies to lend a hand that more than a few clients suggested we make it clear we’re willing to listen and help.
Whether you need advice in writing a new service agreement, independent benchmarking to understand what opportunities exist, or you simply need some operational support for a specific problem, please give us a call.
